Lena Rehne
Lena Rehne recently had her 90th birthday. She is part of our guild since 1989. She still comes to her bi-weekly group meetings with her own car. She grew up on a farm “Vissierskerf” in the Fouriesburg district.
Lena is primarily a traditional quilter, but recently completed an innovative quilt about her terrible experience when she was a little girl of 4 when their farm burnt down.
She still takes part in the Bloemfontein show and completed her last quilt in 2018. She lives alone in an old age care facility.
Lena loves playing the piano, the violin and singing. She has a passion for life and for people. Happy birthday Lena. We salute you!!
